میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کے بعد ائمہ کے بارے میں سوال کیا۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا: امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام امام تھے، پھر حسن علیہ السلام امام تھے، پھر حسین علیہ السلام امام تھے، پھر علی بن حسین امام تھے، پھر محمد بن علی امام تھے۔ جو اس کا انکار کرے وہ اس شخص کی طرح ہے جس نے اللہ تبارک وتعالیٰ کی معرفت اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کی معرفت کا انکار کیا۔ پھر راوی نے کہا: میں نے کہا، 'پھر آپ — آپ پر قربان ہو جاؤں!' تو میں نے یہ بات تین مرتبہ ان کے سامنے دہرائی۔ تو انہوں نے مجھ سے فرمایا: بے شک میں نے تم سے یہ بیان صرف اس لیے کیا کہ تم اللہ تبارک وتعالیٰ کے گواہوں میں سے ہو جاؤ اس کی زمین میں۔

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Fazalat Bin Ayoub, from Muawiya Bin Wahab, from Zareeh who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah^asws about the Imams^asws after the Prophet^saww. So he^asws said: ‘Amir Al-Momineen^asws was an Imam^asws, then Al-Hassan^asws was an Imam^asws, and Al-Husayn^asws was an Imam^asws, and Ali^asws Bin Al-Husayn^asws was an Imam^asws, and Muhammad^asws Bin Ali^asws was an Imam^asws. The one who denies that, he would be like the one who denies the recognition of Allah^azwj Blessed and High, and recognition of His^azwj Rasool^saww’. Then he (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘Then you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, may I be sacrificed for you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>!’ So I reiterated it upon him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> three times. So he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said to me: ‘I<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> rather, narrated to you in order for you to become from the witnesses of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Blessed and High in His<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> earth’.
