قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَثَلُ الصَّلَاةِ مَثَلُ عَمُودِ الْفُسْطَاطِ إِذَا ثَبَتَ الْعَمُودُ نَفَعَتِ الْأَطْنَابُ وَ الْأَوْتَادُ وَ الْغِشَاءُ وَ إِذَا انْكَسَرَ الْعَمُودُ لَمْ يَنْفَعْ طُنُبٌ وَ لَا وَتِدٌ وَ لَا غِشَاءٌ .

احمد بن ادریس نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، انہوں نے صفوان سے، انہوں نے حمزہ بن حمران سے، انہوں نے عبید بن زرارہ سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے فرمایا: 'نماز کی مثال خیمے کے مرکزی ستون جیسی ہے: جب ستون مضبوط ہو تو رسیاں، میخیں اور چادر سب فائدہ مند ہیں؛ اور جب ستون ٹوٹ جائے تو نہ رسی کام آئے، نہ میخ اور نہ چادر۔'
Translation
Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan, from Hamza Bin Humran, from Ubeyd Bin Zurara, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘An example of the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> is like an example of the pillars of the tent. When the pillars are firm, the ropes and the pegs and the covering would be of benefit; and when the pillars break, neither the ropes, nor the pegs, nor the covering would be of (any) benefit’.
