قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مُؤَذِّنٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْغَيْمِ لَمْ أَعْرِفِ الْوَقْتَ فَقَالَ إِذَا صَاحَ الدِّيكُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَصْوَاتٍ وِلَاءً فَقَدْ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَ قَدْ دَخَلَ وَقْتُ الصَّلَاةِ .

میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے عرض کیا: 'میں ایک مؤذن آدمی ہوں۔ جب بادل کا دن ہوتا ہے تو میں وقت نہیں پہچان سکتا۔' تو انہوں نے فرمایا: 'جب مرغ پے درپے تین بار بانگ دے تو سورج ڈھل گیا اور نماز کا وقت داخل ہو گیا۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Al Nowfaly, from Al Husayn Bin Al Mukhtar, from a man who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I am a man who is a Muezzin (a caller to the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>). So whenever it was the cloudy day, I do not recognise the time’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When the rooster crows with three voices consecutively, so the sun has (started to) decline, and the time for the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> has entered’.
