شَهِدْتُ الْمَغْرِبَ لَيْلَةً مَطِيرَةً فِي مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَحِينَ كَانَ قَرِيباً مِنَ الشَّفَقِ نَادَوْا وَ أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلَّوُا الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ أَمْهَلُوا بِالنَّاسِ حَتَّى صَلَّوْا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ الْمُنَادِي فِي مَكَانِهِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلَّوُا الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ النَّاسُ إِلَى مَنَازِلِهِمْ فَسَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) عَمِلَ بِهَذَا .

علی بن محمد نے، سہل بن زیاد سے، احمد بن محمد بن ابی نصر سے، عبداللہ بن سنان سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: میں ایک بارانی رات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کی مسجد میں مغرب کی نماز میں حاضر تھا۔ جب وقت شفق کے قریب تھا، انہوں نے اذان دی اور اقامت کہی، اور مغرب کی نماز ادا کی۔ پھر لوگوں کو مہلت دی گئی یہاں تک کہ انہوں نے دو رکعتیں پڑھیں۔ پھر مؤذن مسجد میں اپنی جگہ کھڑا ہوا اور اقامت کہی، اور عشاء کی نماز ادا کی۔ پھر لوگ اپنے گھروں کو روانہ ہوگئے۔ میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ اسی طرح عمل کرتے تھے۔
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Abdullah Bin Sinan who said, ‘I attended Al-Maghrib <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> on a rainy night in the Masjid of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>. So when it was near to the twilight, there was a call (Azan) and the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> was established. So they prayed Al-Maghrib. Then the people were respited until they had prayed two <span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span> of <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>. Then the caller stood up in his place in the Masjid, and established the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>. So they prayed Al-Isha. Then the people dispersed to go to their houses. So I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about that. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> had performed (like) this’.
