لَمَّا هَبَطَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ( عليه السلام ) بِالْأَذَانِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) كَانَ رَأْسُهُ فِي حِجْرِ عَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلام ) فَأَذَّنَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ( عليه السلام ) وَ أَقَامَ فَلَمَّا انْتَبَهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) قَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ سَمِعْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ حَفِظْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ ادْعُ بِلَالًا فَعَلِّمْهُ فَدَعَا عَلِيٌّ ( عليه السلام ) بِلَالًا فَعَلَّمَهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad, from Mansour Bin Hazim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘When Jibraeel<sup>as</sup> descended with the <span class="iTxt">Azān</span> upon Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, his<sup>saww</sup> head was on the lap of Ali<sup>asws</sup>. So Jibraeel<sup>as</sup> called the <span class="iTxt">Azān</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Iqamah</span>, Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> took notice and said: ‘O Ali<sup>asws</sup>! Did you<sup>asws</sup> hear?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Did you<sup>asws</sup> memorise?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Call Bilal and teach him’. So Ali<sup>asws</sup> called Bilal and taught him’.
