أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ إِذَا دَعَا رَبَّهُ وَ هُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَيَّ شَيْءٍ تَقُولُ إِذَا سَجَدْتَ قُلْتُ عَلِّمْنِي جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ مَا أَقُولُ قَالَ قُلْ يَا رَبَّ الْأَرْبَابِ وَ يَا مَلِكَ الْمُلُوكِ وَ يَا سَيِّدَ السَّادَاتِ وَ يَا جَبَّارَ الْجَبَابِرَةِ وَ يَا إِلَهَ الْآلِهَةِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ افْعَلْ بِي كَذَا وَ كَذَا ثُمَّ قُلْ فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ نَاصِيَتِي فِي قَبْضَتِكَ ثُمَّ ادْعُ بِمَا شِئْتَ وَ اسْأَلْهُ فَإِنَّهُ جَوَادٌ وَ لَا يَتَعَاظَمُهُ شَيْءٌ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Sh<span class="iTxt">Azān</span>, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel Bin Darraj, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The closest of what the servant can happen to be to his Lord<sup>azwj</sup> is when he supplicates to his Lord<sup>azwj</sup> while he performs <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span> (perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span>s). So, which thing are you saying when you perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span>?’ I said, ‘Teach me, may I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>!’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Say, ‘O Lord<sup>azwj</sup> of the lords, and O King of the kings, and O Chief of the chiefs, and O Compeller of the compellers, and O God of the gods! Send Blessings upon Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> and the Progeny<sup>asws</sup> of Muhammad<sup>saww</sup>, and Do such and such with me’. Then say, ‘I am Your<sup>azwj</sup> servant, my forelock being in Your<sup>azwj</sup> Grip’. Then supplicate with whatever you so desire to, and ask Him<sup>azwj</sup>, for He<sup>azwj</sup> is the most Benevolent. Nothing is too big for Him<sup>azwj</sup>’.
