میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے کہا: 'بے شک آپ صرف ڈرانے والے ہیں اور ہر قوم کے لیے ہادی ہے' [۱۳:۷]۔ آپ نے فرمایا: 'رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ منذر ہیں اور علی ہادی ہیں۔' اے ابو محمد! کیا آج کوئی ہادی ہے؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں، جعلت فداک! آپ کی طرف سے ہمیشہ ایک ہادی کے بعد ایک ہادی آتا رہا یہاں تک کہ یہ آپ کی طرف منتقل ہو گیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ تم پر رحم کرے، اے ابو محمد! اگر یہ ہوتا کہ جب کسی شخص پر آیت نازل ہوتی پھر وہ شخص مر جاتا تو آیت بھی مر جاتی اور کتاب بھی مر جاتی۔ لیکن یہ زندہ ہے؛ باقی رہنے والوں میں جاری رہتی ہے جیسے گزر جانے والوں میں جاری رہی۔

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour Bin Ismail, from Sa’dan, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:13#h7"><a href="/books/quran:13#h7">[13:7]</a></a> But rather, you are only a warner, and for every people is a Guide</span>. So he^asws said: ‘Rasool-Allah^saww is the warner, and Ali^asws the guide’. O Abu Muhammad! Is there a guide today?’ I said, ‘Yes, may I be sacrificed for you^asws! There has not ceased to be from you (Imams^asws), a guide after a guide until it (Imamate) was handed over to you^asws’. So he^asws said: ‘May Allah^azwj have Mercy on you^asws, O Abu Muhammad! Had it been so that a Verse was Revealed unto a man, then that man was to die, the Verse would die, the Book would die. But, it is alive. It flow among the ones^asws who remain just as it flows among the ones^asws of the past’.
