سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَمَّنْ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْخُطْبَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِنْ فَاتَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمْ يُدْرِكْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّ أَرْبَعاً وَ قَالَ إِذَا أَدْرَكْتَ الْإِمَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ الرَّكْعَةَ الْأَخِيرَةَ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكْتَ الصَّلَاةَ وَ إِنْ كُنْتَ أَدْرَكْتَهُ بَعْدَ مَا رَكَعَ فَهِيَ الظُّهْرُ أَرْبَعٌ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad Bin Usman, from Al Halby who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the ones did not achieve the sermon on the day of Friday. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He should pray two <span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span>. But, if he misses the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> and does not achieve it, so let him pray four (<span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span>)’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When you achieve (being with) the prayer leader before he performs <span class="iTxt">Rukū</span> in the last <span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span>, so you have achieved the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, and even if you achieve it after him having performed <span class="iTxt">Rukū</span>, so it is Al-Zohr of four (<span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span>)’.
