قُلْتُ لَهُ آناءَ اللَّيْلِ ساجِداً وَ قائِماً يَحْذَرُ الْآخِرَةَ وَ يَرْجُوا رَحْمَةَ رَبِّهِ قَالَ يَعْنِي صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَ أَطْرافَ النَّهارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضى قَالَ يَعْنِي تَطَوَّعْ بِالنَّهَارِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَ إِدْبارَ النُّجُومِ قَالَ رَكْعَتَانِ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ قُلْتُ وَ أَدْبارَ السُّجُودِ قَالَ رَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Hareyz, from Zurara, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:39#h9"><a href="/books/quran:39#h9">[39:9]</a></a> Safe is He who is obedient during the hours of the night, performing Sajdah himself and standing, cautious of the Hereafter and hopes for the Mercy of his Lord</span>’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It Means the night <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to him<sup>asws</sup> <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:20#h130"><a href="/books/quran:20#h130">[20:130]</a></a> so Glorify (Him) during parts of the day, so that you may be well pleased</span>’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It Means the voluntary (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>) at daytime’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:52#h49"><a href="/books/quran:52#h49">[52:49]</a></a> and (Glorify Him) at the retreat of the stars</span>’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Two <span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span> prayed before the morning’. I said, ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:50#h40"><a href="/books/quran:50#h40">[50:40]</a></a> so glorify Him and after the Sajdahs</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Two <span class="iTxt">Rak’at</span> after <span class="iTxt">Al-Maghrib</span>’.
