سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْحَرْثِ مَا يُزَكَّى مِنْهُ فَقَالَ الْبُرُّ وَ الشَّعِيرُ وَ الذُّرَةُ وَ الْأَرُزُّ وَ السُّلْتُ وَ الْعَدَسُ كُلُّ هَذَا مِمَّا يُزَكَّى وَ قَالَ كُلُّ مَا كِيلَ بِالصَّاعِ فَبَلَغَ الْأَوْسَاقَ فَعَلَيْهِ الزَّكَاةُ .

حمید بن زیاد نے احمد بن سماعہ سے، انہوں نے ایک نامعلوم راوی سے، انہوں نے ابان سے، انہوں نے ابو مریم سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے کھیتی کے بارے میں پوچھا کہ اس میں سے کس پر زکوٰۃ واجب ہے؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا: گندم، جَو، مکئی، چاول، جَو کی ایک قسم اور مسور — یہ سب زکوٰۃ کے زمرے میں آتے ہیں۔ اور آپ نے فرمایا: جو بھی چیز صاع سے ناپی جائے اور اوساق کی مقدار کو پہنچے، اس پر زکوٰۃ واجب ہے۔
Translation
Humeyd Bin Ziyad, from ahmad Bin Sama’at, from the one who mentioned it, from Aban, from Abu Maryam, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the farm, what would be purified (<span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> paid) from it?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The wheat, and the barley, and the corn, and the rice, and the rye, and the lentils – all of these are from what would be purified (<span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> paid)’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Everything which is weighed by the Sa’a, so it reaches the Awsaaq, so upon it is the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span>’.
