الْبِرُّ وَ الصَّدَقَةُ يَنْفِيَانِ الْفَقْرَ وَ يَزِيدَانِ فِي الْعُمُرِ وَ يَدْفَعَانِ تِسْعِينَ مِيتَةَ السَّوْءِ . وَ فِي خَبَرٍ آخَرَ وَ يَدْفَعَانِ عَنْ شِيعَتِي مِيتَةَ السَّوْءِ .

محمد بن اسماعیل نے الفضل بن شاذان اور احمد بن ادریس سے، انہوں نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، سب نے صفوان بن یحیی سے، انہوں نے اسحاق بن غالب سے، انہوں نے اپنے راوی سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: نیکی اور صدقہ فقر کو دور کرتے ہیں، عمر میں اضافہ کرتے ہیں، اور نوے بری موتوں کو دفع کرتے ہیں۔ اور دوسری روایت میں: یہ دونوں میرے شیعوں سے بری موت کو دفع کرتے ہیں۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan and Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, altogether from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Is’haq Bin Ghalib, from the one who narrated it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The righteous deed and the charity, they both negate the poverty and they both increase in the life span, and they both repel ninety-nine evil (types of) death’. And in another Hadeeth, ‘(He<sup>asws</sup> said): ‘And they both repel the evil death from my<sup>asws</sup> Shias’.
