ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے اپنے بیٹے محمد سے فرمایا: 'اے میرے بیٹے! اس نفقے میں سے تمہارے پاس کتنا بچا ہے؟' اس نے کہا: 'چالیس دینار۔' فرمایا: 'نکالو اور اس سے صدقہ کرو۔' اس نے کہا: 'میرے پاس اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں بچا۔' فرمایا: 'اس سے صدقہ کرو، کیونکہ اللہ عزوجل اس کا بدل دے گا۔ کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ ہر چیز کی ایک چابی ہوتی ہے اور رزق کی چابی صدقہ ہے؟ پس اس سے صدقہ کرو۔' چنانچہ اس نے کیا اور ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام دس دن بھی نہ ٹھہرے تھے کہ کسی جگہ سے چار ہزار دینار آ گئے۔ تو فرمایا: 'اے میرے بیٹے! ہم نے اللہ کی راہ میں چالیس دینار دیے تو اللہ نے ہمیں چار ہزار دینار عطا فرمائے۔'

Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from his father, from Ali Bin Wahbaan, from his uncle Haroun Bin Isa who said, ‘Abu Abdullah^asws said to Muhammad, his^asws son: ‘O my^asws son! How much excess is there with you from those expenses?’ He said, ‘Forty Dinars’. He^asws said: ‘Bring it out and give charity with it’. He said, ‘There does not remain with me anything apart from it’. He^asws said: ‘Give in charity with it, for Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic would Replace it. But, do you not know that for everything there is a key, and a key for the sustenance is the charity, therefore give charity with it’. So he did it and Abu Abdullah^azwj did not remain for more than ten days before there came to him from a place, four thousand Dinars. So he^asws said: ‘O my^asws son! We gave Allah^azwj forty Dinars, and He^azwj Gave us four thousand Dinars’.
