أَعْطِ مَنْ وَقَعَتْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَةُ فِي قَلْبِكَ وَ قَالَ أَعْطِ دُونَ الدِّرْهَمِ قُلْتُ أَكْثَرُ مَا يُعْطَى قَالَ أَرْبَعَةُ دَوَانِيقَ .
اردو
ان سے پوچھا گیا ایسے سائل کے بارے میں جو مانگتا ہے اور معلوم نہیں ہوتا کہ وہ کون ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اسے دو جس کے لیے تمہارے دل میں رحم پیدا ہو۔ اور فرمایا: ایک درہم سے کم دو۔ میں نے کہا: زیادہ سے زیادہ کتنا دیا جائے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: چار دوانق۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from his father, from Abdullah Bin Al Fazl Al Nowfaly, from his father, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having been asked about the beggar who asks and it is not known what he is?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Give to the one for whom the mercy occurs in your heart’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Give less than one Dirham’. I said, ‘What is the most one can give?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Four <span class="iTxt">Dawaneeqs</span> (a unit of measurement)’.
