اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ قَالَ الصَّبْرُ الصِّيَامُ وَ قَالَ إِذَا نَزَلَتْ بِالرَّجُلِ النَّازِلَةُ وَ الشَّدِيدَةُ فَلْيَصُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ وَ اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ يَعْنِي الصِّيَامَ .

علی نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے سلیمان سے، انہوں نے جس نے اس کا ذکر کیا اس سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے اس کلام کے بارے میں: اللہ عزّ و جلّ: 'اور صبر سے مدد مانگو' آپ نے فرمایا: 'صبر روزہ ہے۔' اور فرمایا: 'جب کسی شخص پر مصیبت اور سختی آئے تو اسے روزہ رکھنا چاہیے، کیونکہ اللہ عزّ و جلّ فرماتا ہے: «اور صبر سے مدد مانگو» یعنی روزہ سے۔'
Translation
Ali, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Suleyman, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h45"><a href="/books/quran:2#h45">[2:45]</a></a> And seek Assistance with the patience</span>, he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The patience (is a reference to) the Fasts’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When there descends upon the man the descending (afflictions) and the difficulties, so let him Fast, for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is Saying <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h45"><a href="/books/quran:2#h45">[2:45]</a></a> And seek Assistance with the patience</span>, Meaning the Fasts’.
