إِذَا غَابَ الْهِلَالُ قَبْلَ الشَّفَقِ فَهُوَ لِلَيْلَتِهِ وَ إِذَا غَابَ بَعْدَ الشَّفَقِ فَهُوَ لِلَيْلَتَيْنِ .

محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد اور محمد بن خالد سے، انہوں نے سعد بن سعد سے، انہوں نے عبد اللہ بن الحسین سے، انہوں نے الصلت الخزاز سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: جب ہلال شفق سے پہلے غروب ہو جائے تو وہ اسی رات کا (پہلی رات کا) ہے، اور جب شفق کے بعد غروب ہو تو وہ دو راتوں کا (دوسری رات کا) ہے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad and Muhammad Bin Khalid, form Sa’ad Bin Sa’ad, from Abdullah Bin Al Husayn, from Al Salt Al Khazzaz, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘When the new moon disappears before the twilight (afterglow), so it is for its night (the first moon of the month), but if it disappears after the twilight (afterglow has gone), so it is for the second night’ (the moon of the 2<sup>nd</sup> of that month).
