كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ وَ رَمَضَانَ يَصِلُهُمَا وَ يَنْهَى النَّاسَ أَنْ يَصِلُوهُمَا وَ كَانَ يَقُولُ هُمَا شَهْرَا اللَّهِ وَ هُمَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا قَبْلَهُمَا وَ لِمَا بَعْدَهُمَا مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ .
Translation
Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Al Husayn Bin Ulwan, from Amro Bin Khalid, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> used to Fast Shaban and Ramazan and was linking the two, and he<sup>saww</sup> forbade the people that they link these two, and he<sup>saww</sup> was saying; ‘These two are the months of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and they are both an expiation from the sins for what was before them and for what is after them’.
