قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الصَّائِمُ يَشَمُّ الرَّيْحَانَ وَ الطِّيبَ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ . وَ رُوِيَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَشَمُّ الرَّيْحَانَ لِأَنَّهُ يُكْرَهُ لَهُ أَنْ يَتَلَذَّذَ بِهِ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Al A’ala Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The Fasting one smells the aroma and the perfume. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem with it’. And it is reported that he<sup>asws</sup> did not smell the aromas because it was disliked for him<sup>asws</sup> that he<sup>asws</sup> derive pleasure with it.
