Al-Kafi 6432

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Al Hassan Bin Rashid who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘The menstruating woman has to make up the (missed) Prayer?’ He^asws said: ‘No’. I said, ‘She has to make up the Fast?’ He^asws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘From where has that come about?’ He^asws said: ‘The first one who anlogised was Iblees^la’. I said, ‘And the Fasting one can stay still in the water?’ He^asws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘So, can he wear wet clothes upon his body?’ He^asws said: ‘No’. I said, ‘From where has that come about?’ He^asws said: ‘From that’. I said, ‘The Fasting one can smell the aromas?’ He^asws said: ‘No, because he would derive pleasure, and he^asws disliked it for himself^asws that he derives pleasure’.
