سُئِلَ عَنِ الِاعْتِكَافِ قَالَ لَا يَصْلُحُ الِاعْتِكَافُ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ أَوْ مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَوْ مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ أَوْ مَسْجِدِ جَمَاعَةٍ وَ تَصُومُ مَا دُمْتَ مُعْتَكِفاً .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad, from Al Halby, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> was asked about the <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span> is not correct except in the Sacred Masjid, or Masjid of the Rasool<sup>saww</sup>, or Masjid of Al-Kufa, or a general Masjid, and you should be Fasting for as long as you are in <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span>’.
