كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ ( عليه السلام ) لِمَ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ الصَّوْمَ فَوَرَدَ الْجَوَابُ لِيَجِدَ الْغَنِيُّ مَضَضَ الْجُوعِ فَيَحِنَّ عَلَى الْفَقِيرِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad, and Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Is’haq Bin Muhammad, from Hamza Bin Muhammad who said, ‘I wrote to Abu Muhammad<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Why did Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Obligate the Fasting?’ So the answer came: ‘In order for the rich one to experience the pangs of huger so that he would be compassionate upon the poor’.
