علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے معاویہ بن عمار سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: جب ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے اسماعیل کو مکہ میں چھوڑا تو بچہ پیاسا ہو گیا۔ صفا اور مروہ کے درمیان ایک درخت تھا۔ اس کی ماں نکلی اور صفا پر کھڑی ہو کر کہنے لگی: کیا وادیوں میں کوئی ہمدرد ہے؟ لیکن کسی نے جواب نہیں دیا۔ وہ چلتی رہی یہاں تک کہ مروہ پہنچ گئی اور کہا: کیا وادیوں میں کوئی ہمدرد ہے؟ لیکن جواب نہیں ملا۔ پھر وہ صفا کی طرف لوٹ آئی اور یہی کہتی رہی یہاں تک کہ سات بار کیا۔ اللہ نے اسے سنت بنا دیا۔ جبرئیل آئے اور کہا: تم کون ہو؟ اس نے کہا: میں ابراہیم کے بیٹے کی ماں ہوں۔ انہوں نے پوچھا: انہوں نے تمہیں کس کے سپرد کیا؟ اس نے کہا: اگر آپ یہ پوچھتے ہیں تو میں نے بھی ابراہیم سے جب وہ جانے لگے تو کہا تھا: اے ابراہیم! آپ ہمیں کس کے سپرد کر کے جا رہے ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: اللہ عزوجل کے۔ تو جبرئیل علیہ السلام نے کہا: انہوں نے تمہیں ایسی ذات کے سپرد کیا ہے جو کافی ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: لوگ پانی نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے مکہ کا راستہ اختیار کرنے سے گریز کرتے تھے۔ بچے نے اپنے پاؤں سے زمین کھرچی تو زمزم ابل پڑا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: وہ مروہ سے بچے کے پاس واپس آئی اور پانی بہ رہا تھا۔ وہ اس کے چاروں طرف مٹی جمع کرنے لگی اس ڈر سے کہ پانی بہہ نہ جائے اور اگر وہ چھوڑ دیتی تو وہ ایک بہتا دریا بن جاتا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: جب پرندوں نے پانی دیکھا تو اس کے اوپر منڈلانے لگے۔ یمن کا ایک قافلہ سفر کے ارادے سے گزرا۔ انہوں نے پرندوں کو دیکھا تو کہا: پرندے پانی ہی پر منڈلاتے ہیں۔ تو وہ ان کے پاس آئے اور ہاجرہ نے انہیں پانی پلایا اور قافلے نے انہیں کھانا کھلایا۔ اللہ عزوجل نے ان کے لیے اس کے ذریعے رزق کا ذریعہ بنا دیا۔ لوگ مکہ سے گزرتے اور انہیں کھانا کھلاتے اور پانی پلاتے۔

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muawiya Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘When Ibrahim^as left Ismail^as at Makkah, the young child was thirsty. So there was a tree in between Al-Safa and Al-Marwa. So his^as mother^as went out until she^as stood upon Al-Safa, so she^as said: ‘Is there anyone in the valley who is kind?’ But no one answered her^as. So she^as went until she^as ended up to Al-Marwa, and she^as said: ‘Is there anyone in the valley who is kind?’ But she^as was not answered. Then she^as returned to Al-Safa and said that, until she did that seven (times). Thus, Allah^azwj Made that to flow as a Sunnah, and Jibraeel^as came to her^as, so he^as said to her^as: ‘Who are you^as?’ So she^as said: ‘I^as am a mother of a son^as of Ibrahim^as’. He^as said to her^as: ‘To whom did he^as leave you^as?’ So she^as said: ‘But, you^as say that. I^as did say to him^as, ‘Where are you^as intending to go, O Ibrahim^as, to whom are you^as leaving us^as?’ So he^as said: ‘To Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic’. So Jibraeel^as said: ‘And he^as has allocated you^as to (One Who is) Sufficient’. He^asws said: ‘And the people used to keep away from passing by Makkah due to the scarcity of the water. So the child kicked with his^as leg and Zamzam flowed. So she^as returned from Al-Marwa to the child, and the water had accumulated. So she collected the sand to gather around it, fearing that the water would evaporate, and had she^as neglected it, it would have evaporated. He^asws said; ‘So when the birds saw the water, they encircled over it. So the riders passed by from Al-Yemen intending the journey, and when they saw the birds, they said, ‘The birds would not encircle except upon the water’. So they came over to them^as, and they^as quenched them from the water. So the riders (in turn) fed them^as from the food, and Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic Caused that to flow for them^as as livelihood. And the people used to pass by at Makkah, so they would be feeding them^as from the food, and they^as were quenching them from the water’.
