ایک شیخ نے مجھ سے بیان کیا، جو بغداد کے عام لوگوں میں سے قَطیعَةُ الرَّبیع کے رہنے والوں میں سے تھا، اور جن سے روایات نقل کی جاتی تھیں، اس نے کہا: اس نے کہا: اس نے مجھ سے کہا: “میں نے اس اہلِ بیت میں سے ایک شخص کو دیکھا ہے جن کی فضیلت کا لوگ ذکر کرتے ہیں، اور میں نے کبھی اس جیسا کسی کو اس کی فضیلت اور اس کی عبادت گزاری میں نہیں دیکھا۔” تو میں نے اس سے کہا: “وہ کون تھا، اور تم نے اسے کیسے دیکھا؟” اس نے کہا: سندی بن شاہک کے دنوں میں، خیر کی نسبت رکھنے والے معزز لوگوں میں سے اسی آدمیوں کو جمع کیا گیا، اور ہمیں موسیٰ بن جعفر (عليه السلام) کے پاس لے جایا گیا۔ سندی نے ہم سے کہا: “اے لوگو! اس شخص کو دیکھو۔ کیا اسے کوئی حادثہ پیش آیا ہے؟ لوگ گمان کرتے ہیں کہ اس کے ساتھ کچھ کیا گیا ہے، اور اس بارے میں بہت باتیں کرتے ہیں۔ یہ اس کا ٹھکانا اور اس کا بستر ہے، اس کے لیے کشادہ کیا گیا ہے، تنگ نہیں کیا گیا۔ امیر المؤمنین نے اس کے ساتھ کوئی برائی کا ارادہ نہیں کیا؛ بلکہ وہ صرف اسے اس وقت تک روکے ہوئے ہے جب تک وہ آ کر امیر المؤمنین سے مناظرہ نہ کرے۔ یہ شخص صحیح سلامت ہے، اور اس کے تمام امور میں اس کے لیے آسانی مہیا کی گئی ہے۔ پس اس سے پوچھو۔” اس نے کہا: “ہماری کوئی فکر نہ تھی مگر اس شخص کو دیکھنا، اور اس کی فضیلت اور اس کے وقار کو دیکھنا۔ پھر موسیٰ بن جعفر (عليه السلام) نے فرمایا: ‘جہاں تک اس نے کشادگی اور اس جیسی باتوں کا ذکر کیا ہے، تو وہ اسی طرح ہے جیسا اس نے کہا؛ مگر میں تمہیں خبر دیتا ہوں، اے جماعت! کہ مجھے سات کھجوروں میں زہر دیا گیا ہے، اور کل میرا رنگ سبز ہو جائے گا، اور پرسوں میں وفات پا جاؤں گا۔’” اس نے کہا: “پھر میں نے السندی بن شاہک کی طرف دیکھا، تو وہ کھجور کے پتے کی طرح کانپ اور لرز رہا تھا۔”

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Bin Bashhar who said, ‘A Sheykh from the people of Qatiyya Al Rabi’e, from the generals Muslims at Baghdad, from the ones who was transmitted from (a reliable reporter), said, ‘He said to me, ‘I have seen one<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> whose merits are spoken of, from the People<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> of this Household, so I have not seen the likes of him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> at all regarding his<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> merits and his<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> (performance of) rituals’. So I said to him, ‘Who, and how did you see him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>?’ He said, ‘In the days of Al-Sindy Bin Shahak (Vizier of Caliph Haroun Al-Rashid), we gathered eighty men from the perspective linked to the goodness, and we went over to Musa^asws Bin Ja’far^asws (in prison). So Al-Sindy said to us, ‘O you all! Look at this man. Has anything new (bad) happened with him^asws? The people are alleging that he^asws has been (tortured) with and they are frequenting with regards to that. And this here is his^asws room, and his^asws bed, and it is made to be capacious upon him^asws without constraints, and the commander of the faithful (Caliph Haroun Rashid) does not intend evil with him^asws, and rather he is being considerate with him^asws, so that he^asws would proceed and debate with the commander of the faithful (Caliph Haroun Rashid). And here he^asws is, in good health, eased upon with regards to the entirety of his^asws affairs. Therefore, ask him^asws’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And we, there weren’t any thoughts for us except for the looking at the man^asws, and to his^asws merits and his^asws ways (mannerisms). So Musa^asws Bin Ja’far^asws said: ‘As for what he (Al-Sindy) has mentioned from the capaciousness and what resembles it, so it is upon what he has mentioned apart from that I^asws am informing you all, O you number (of people), that I^asws have been given poison in seven dates, and tomorrow I^asws shall turn green, and after tomorrow I^asws shall be passing away’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I looked at Al-Sindy Bin Shahak, he was trembling and shuddering like a palm tree’.
