John Shaqi

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَرَضَ الْحَجَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْجِدَةِ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ وَ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ لِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَ مَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعالَمِينَ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَحُجَّ مِنَّا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ قَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ مَنْ قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا هَكَذَا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Musa Bin Al Qasim Al Bajaly, and Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Al Amraky Bin Ali, altogether, (It has been narrated) from Ali son of Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, from his brother<sup>asws</sup> Musa<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Necessitated the Hajj upon the inhabitants of Al-Jiddah during every year, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:3#h97"><a href="/books/quran:3#h97">[3:97]</a></a> and Pilgrimage to the House is incumbent upon the people for the Sake of Allah, (upon) every one who is able to undertake the journey to it; and whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds</span>’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘So the one from us who did not perform Hajj, so he has disbelieved?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, but the one who says, ‘It is not like this’, so he has disbelieved’.
