علی بن محمد، ہمارے ایک ساتھی سے، حسین بن عبد الرحمن سے، صندل الخیاط سے، زید الشحام سے، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابا عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا، اس کے، بلند و برتر، اس فرمان کے متعلق: “یہ ہمارا عطیہ ہے، پس احسان کرو یا روک لو، بغیر حساب کے۔” انہوں نے عليه السلام فرمایا: “اللہ نے سلیمان کو عظیم سلطنت عطا کی۔ پھر یہ آیت رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله کے بارے میں جاری ہوئی، تو آپ کو اختیار تھا کہ جسے چاہیں جو چاہیں عطا کریں اور جسے چاہیں منع کریں۔ اور اللہ نے آپ کو سلیمان کو دیے گئے عطیے سے بہتر عطا فرمایا، اس کے اس فرمان کی وجہ سے:” “رسول تمہیں جو کچھ دے، اسے لے لو؛ اور جس چیز سے وہ تمہیں منع کرے، اس سے باز رہو۔”

Translation

Ali Bin Muhammad, from one of our companiosn, from Al Husayn Bin Abdul Rahman, from Sandal Al Khayyat, from Zayd Al Shahham who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah^asws regarding the Words of the Exalted <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:38#h39"><a href="/books/quran:38#h39">[38:39]</a></a> This is Our Gift, therefore give out freely or withhold, without accountability</span>. He^asws said: ‘He^azwj Gave Suleyman^as a magnificent kingdom. Then this Verse flowed regarding Rasool-Allah^saww. Thus, it was for him^saww that he^saww could give whatever he^saww so desired to whoever he^saww so desired, and prevent it from the one who he^saww so desires to. And, Allah^azwj Gave him^saww was what He^azwj Gave Suleyman^as due to His^azwj Words <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:59#h7"><a href="/books/quran:59#h7">[59:7]</a></a> and whatever the Rasool gives you, accept it, and from whatever he forbids you, keep back</span>’.
