أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ رَسُولَهُ بِوَلَايَةِ عَلِيٍّ وَ أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّما وَلِيُّكُمُ اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ وَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ وَ يُؤْتُونَ الزَّكاةَ وَ فَرَضَ وَلَايَةَ أُولِي الْأَمْرِ فَلَمْ يَدْرُوا مَا هِيَ فَأَمَرَ اللَّهُ مُحَمَّداً ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَنْ يُفَسِّرَ لَهُمُ الْوَلَايَةَ كَمَا فَسَّرَ لَهُمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَ الزَّكَاةَ وَ الصَّوْمَ وَ الْحَجَّ فَلَمَّا أَتَاهُ ذَلِكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ضَاقَ بِذَلِكَ صَدْرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَ تَخَوَّفَ أَنْ يَرْتَدُّوا عَنْ دِينِهِمْ وَ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُوهُ فَضَاقَ صَدْرُهُ وَ رَاجَعَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَيْهِ يا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ ما أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَما بَلَّغْتَ رِسالَتَهُ وَ اللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَصَدَعَ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ذِكْرُهُ فَقَامَ بِوَلَايَةِ عَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلام ) يَوْمَ غَدِيرِ خُمٍّ فَنَادَى الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً وَ أَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُبَلِّغَ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ أُذَيْنَةَ قَالُوا جَمِيعاً غَيْرَ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ وَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) وَ كَانَتِ الْفَرِيضَةُ تَنْزِلُ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ الْأُخْرَى وَ كَانَتِ الْوَلَايَةُ آخِرَ الْفَرَائِضِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَ أَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَا أُنْزِلُ عَلَيْكُمْ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ فَرِيضَةً قَدْ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمُ الْفَرَائِضَ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے عمر بن اذینہ سے، انہوں نے زرارہ، فضیل بن یسار، بکیر بن اعین، محمد بن مسلم، برید بن معاویہ اور ابو الجارود سب نے مل کر ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ عز وجل نے اپنے رسول کو علی کی ولایت کا حکم دیا اور ان پر نازل کیا: [۵:۵۵] بے شک تمہارا ولی صرف اللہ ہے اور اس کے رسول اور وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے جو نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور زکوٰۃ دیتے ہیں۔ اور اس نے اولی الامر کی ولایت کو فرض کیا۔ لوگ نہیں جانتے تھے کہ یہ کیا ہے، تو اللہ نے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کو حکم دیا کہ وہ ولایت کی تفسیر بیان کریں جیسا کہ انہوں نے نماز، زکوٰۃ، روزہ اور حج کی تفسیر بیان کی تھی۔ جب اللہ کی طرف سے یہ حکم آیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کا سینہ تنگ ہو گیا اور انہیں ڈر تھا کہ لوگ دین سے پھر جائیں اور انہیں جھٹلائیں۔ چنانچہ ان کا سینہ تنگ ہوا اور انہوں نے اپنے رب عز وجل کی طرف رجوع کیا۔ تو اللہ عز وجل نے ان پر وحی نازل کی: [۵:۶۷] اے رسول! جو آپ کے رب کی طرف سے نازل ہوا ہے وہ پہنچا دیں اور اگر نہیں کیا تو گویا آپ نے رسالت نہیں پہنچائی اور اللہ آپ کو لوگوں سے محفوظ رکھے گا۔ تو انہوں نے اللہ تعالی کے حکم کا اعلان کیا اور علی علیہ السلام کی ولایت غدیر خم کے دن قائم کی، نماز جامعہ کی ندا دی اور لوگوں کو حکم دیا کہ حاضر غائب کو پہنچائے۔ عمر بن اذینہ نے کہا: ابو الجارود کے سوا سب نے یہی بیان کیا۔ اور ابو جعفر علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: فرائض ایک کے بعد ایک نازل ہوتے رہے اور ولایت آخری فریضہ تھا۔ پس اللہ عز وجل نے نازل کیا: [۵:۳] آج میں نے تمہارے لیے تمہارا دین مکمل کر دیا اور تم پر اپنی نعمت تمام کر دی۔ ابو جعفر علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: اللہ عز وجل فرماتا ہے: اس کے بعد میں تم پر کوئی فریضہ نازل نہیں کروں گا، میں نے تمہارے لیے فرائض مکمل کر دیے ہیں۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Umar Bin Azina, from Zurara and Al Fuzayl Bin Yasar and Bukeyr Bin Ayn and Muhammad Bin Muslim and Bureyd Bin Muawiya and Abu Al Jaroud, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Commanded His<sup>azwj</sup> Rasool<sup>saww</sup> with the Wilayah of Ali<sup>asws</sup> and Revealed unto him<sup>saww</sup> <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h55"><a href="/books/quran:5#h55">[5:55]</a></a> But rather, only Allah is your Guardian and His Rasool and those who believe, those who are establishing the Prayers and are paying the Zakāt</span>, and He<sup>azwj</sup> Necessitated the Wilayah of the Master<sup>asws</sup> of the Command (<span class="iTxt">Ul Al-Amr</span>). But they (people) did not know what it was, so Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Commanded Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> that he<sup>saww</sup> should interpret the Wilayah for them just as he<sup>saww</sup> had interpreted for them the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, and the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span>, and the Fasts, and the Hajj. So when he<sup>saww</sup> gave them that, the chest of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> was constricted by that and he<sup>saww</sup> was fearing that they would be reneging from their Religion, and that they would be belying him<sup>asws</sup>. So his<sup>saww</sup> chest was constricted and he<sup>asws</sup> referred to his<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic, so Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Revealed unto him<sup>saww</sup> <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h67"><a href="/books/quran:5#h67">[5:67]</a></a> O Rasool! Deliver what has been Revealed unto you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His Message, and Allah will Protect you from the people</span>. So he<sup>saww</sup> implemented the Command of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, Exalted is His<sup>azwj</sup> Mention, so he<sup>asws</sup> established the Wilayah of Ali<sup>asws</sup> on the Day of Ghadeer Khumm, so he<sup>saww</sup> called for the congregational <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> and ordered the people that the ones present should deliver it to the absentees’. Umar Bin Azina (a narrator) said, ‘All (the above mentioned reporters) said altogether, apart from Abu Al-Jaroud, ‘And Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And it was so that the Obligatory act was Revealed after the other Obligatory act, and it was so that the Wilayah was the last of the Obligations. So Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Revealed <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h3"><a href="/books/quran:5#h3">[5:3]</a></a> This day have I Perfected for you your Religion and Completed My Favour on you</span>’. Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is Saying: “I<sup>asws</sup> will not be Revealing upon you, after this Obligation, and I<sup>asws</sup> have already Completed the Obligations for you all”’.
