قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلِ ( عليه السلام ) أَ لَا تَدُلُّنِي إِلَى مَنْ آخُذُ عَنْهُ دِينِي فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنِي عَلِيٌّ إِنَّ أَبِي أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَأَدْخَلَنِي إِلَى قَبْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِذَا قَالَ قَوْلًا وَفَى بِهِ .

الحسین بن محمد، معلیٰ بن محمد سے، احمد بن محمد بن عبداللہ سے، حسن سے، ابن ابی عمیر سے، محمد بن اسحاق بن عمار سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو الحسن الاول علیہ السلام سے کہا: “کیا آپ مجھے اس شخص کی طرف رہنمائی نہیں فرمائیں گے جس سے میں اپنا دین اخذ کروں؟” تو انہوں نے فرمایا: “یہ میرا بیٹا، علی ہے۔ بے شک میرے والد نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑا اور مجھے رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم کی قبر کی طرف لے گئے، پھر فرمایا: ‘اے میرے بیٹے،’” “بے شک میں زمین میں ایک خلیفہ بنانے والا ہوں۔” اور بے شک اللہ، عزت و جلال والا، جب کوئی بات فرماتا ہے تو اسے پورا کرتا ہے۔
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abdullah, from Al Hassan, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muhammad Bin Is’haq Bin Ammar, said, ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> the 1<sup>st</sup>, ‘Will you<sup>asws</sup> not point me to the one<sup>asws</sup> from whom I should be taking my Religion?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘This son<sup>asws</sup> of mine<sup>asws</sup>, Ali<sup>asws</sup>. My<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> grabbed me<sup>asws</sup> by my<sup>asws</sup> hand and took me<sup>asws</sup> to the grave of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> and he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O my<sup>asws</sup> son<sup>asws</sup>! Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h30"><a href="/books/quran:2#h30">[2:30]</a></a> And when your Lord said to the Angels, I am going to Make a Caliph in the earth</span>, and surely when Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Says (some) Words, He<sup>azwj</sup> Fulfils it’.
