قُلْتُ لِأَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَاكَ ( عليه السلام ) مَنِ الَّذِي يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ هُوَ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) ذَهَبَ النَّاسُ يَمِيناً وَ شِمَالًا وَ قُلْتُ فِيكَ أَنَا وَ أَصْحَابِي فَأَخْبِرْنِي مَنِ الَّذِي يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ فَقَالَ ابْنِي فُلَانٌ .

احمد بن مہران، محمد بن علی سے، سعید بن ابی الجہم سے، النصر بن قابوس سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو ابراہیم (عليه السلام) سے کہا: “میں نے آپ کے والد (عليه السلام) سے پوچھا تھا کہ آپ کے بعد کون ہوگا، تو انہوں نے مجھے بتایا کہ وہ آپ ہیں۔ پھر جب ابو عبداللہ (عليه السلام) وفات پا گئے تو لوگ دائیں اور بائیں ہو گئے، جبکہ میں اور میرے ساتھی آپ کے ساتھ رہے۔ پس مجھے بتائیے کہ آپ کے بعد آپ کی اولاد میں سے کون ہوگا۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: “میرا بیٹا، فلاں۔”
Translation
Ahmad Bin Mihran, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Saeed Bin Abu Al Jahm, from Al Nasr Bin Qabous who said, ‘I said to Abu Ibrahim<sup>asws</sup> (7<sup>th</sup> Imam<sup>asws</sup>), ‘I asked your<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> who is that who would happen to be from after you<sup>asws</sup>. So he<sup>asws</sup> informed me that you<sup>asws</sup> are him<sup>asws</sup>. So when Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> passed away, the people went right and left, and I said regarding you<sup>asws</sup>, I and my companions. Therefore, inform me, who is the one who would happen to be from after you<sup>asws</sup> from your<sup>asws</sup> sons?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘My<sup>asws</sup> son, so and so’.
