الحسین بن محمد، محمد بن احمد النهدی سے، محمد بن خلاد الصیقل سے، محمد بن الحسن بن عمار سے، جنہوں نے کہا: میں مدینہ میں علی بن جعفر بن محمد کے پاس بیٹھا تھا، اور میں دو سال سے ان کے پاس مقیم تھا، ان سے وہ باتیں لکھتا تھا جو وہ اپنے بھائی، یعنی ابا الحسن عليه السلام سے سنتے تھے، کہ اتنے میں ابو جعفر محمد بن علی الرضا عليه السلام مسجد، مسجدِ رسول صلى الله عليه وآله میں داخل ہوئے۔ پھر علی بن جعفر بغیر جوتوں اور بغیر چادر کے اٹھ کھڑے ہوئے، ان کا ہاتھ چوما اور ان کی تعظیم کی۔ تو ابو جعفر عليه السلام نے ان سے فرمایا: “اے چچا، بیٹھ جائیے، اللہ آپ پر رحم فرمائے۔” انہوں نے کہا: “اے میرے سردار، میں کیسے بیٹھوں جبکہ آپ کھڑے ہیں؟” پھر جب علی بن جعفر اپنی مجلس کی طرف لوٹے تو ان کے ساتھی انہیں ملامت کرنے لگے اور کہنے لگے: “آپ ان کے والد کے چچا ہیں، اور آپ ان کے ساتھ یہ کرتے ہیں؟” انہوں نے کہا: “خاموش رہو۔ اگر اللہ عزوجل نے اس سفید بال کو اس کا اہل نہیں سمجھا، اور اس نوجوان کو اس کا اہل سمجھا، اور اسے وہاں رکھا جہاں اسے رکھا، تو کیا میں اس کے فضل کا انکار کروں؟ ہم اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں اس سے جو تم کہہ رہے ہو۔ بلکہ میں تو اس کا غلام ہوں۔”

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad Al Nahdy, from Muhammad Bin Khallad Al Sayqal, from Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Bin Ammar who said, ‘I was seated in the presence of Ali son of Ja’far^asws Bin Muhammad^asws at Al-Medina, and I was staying with him for two years, writing from him what he had heard from his brother^asws, meaning Abu Al-Hassan^asws (7^th Imam^asws) when Abu Ja’far Muhammad^asws Bin Ali Al-Reza^asws entered the Masjid, the Masjid of Rasool-Allah^saww. So Ali Bin Ja’far^asws leapt up without any shoes nor a robe, and he kissed his^asws hand and revered him^asws. So Abu Ja’far^asws said to him, ‘O Uncle, be seated, may Allah^azwj have Mercy on you’. So he said, ‘O my Chief^asws! How can I sit while you^asws are standing?’ So when Ali son of Ja’far^asws returned to his gathering, his companions went on rebuking him and they were saying, ‘You are an uncle of his^asws father^asws, and you are doing this deed with him^asws?’ So he said, ‘Be silent! When it was so that Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic’, and he grabbed his own beard, ‘has not Sanctified this old man and has Sanctified this youth, and Placed him^asws where He^azwj Placed him^asws, (how can I) deny his^asws merits? I seek Refuge with Allah^azwj from what you are saying. But, I am a slave of his^asws’.
