سَأَلْتُ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) هَلْ يَجُوزُ بَيْعُ النَّخْلِ إِذَا حَمَلَ فَقَالَ يَجُوزُ بَيْعُهُ حَتَّى يَزْهُوَ فَقُلْتُ وَ مَا الزَّهْوُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ يَحْمَرُّ وَ يَصْفَرُّ وَ شِبْهُ ذَلِكَ .
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Washa who said, ‘I asked Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Is it allowed to sell the palm tree when it is born (sprouts)?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It is allowed until it is in splendour’. So I said, ‘And what is ‘the splendour’, may I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When it becomes red, and yellow, and similar to that’.
