قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الرَّجُلُ يَشْتَرِي الْمَمْلُوكَ وَ لَهُ مَالٌ لِمَنْ مَالُهُ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلِمَ الْبَائِعُ أَنَّ لَهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ لِلْمُشْتَرِي وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلِمَ فَهُوَ لِلْبَائِعِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel Bin Darraj, from Zurara who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The man buys the owned slave and for him is wealth. For whom is his wealth?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If it was in the knowledge of the seller that there is wealth for him, so it is for the buyer, and if he did not happen to have knowledge of it, so it is for the seller’.
