سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ رَجُلٍ بَاعَ جَارِيَةً عَلَى أَنَّهَا بِكْرٌ فَلَمْ يَجِدْهَا عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ لَا تُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِ وَ لَا يُوجَبُ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ إِنَّهُ يَكُونُ يَذْهَبُ فِي حَالِ مَرَضٍ أَوْ أَمْرٍ يُصِيبُهَا .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from the one who narrated it, from Zurara Bin Muhammad, from Sama’at who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about a man who sold a slave girl upon a stipulation that she was a virgin, but he (the buyer) did not find her to be upon that. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He cannot return her to him, and nothing would be obligated upon it, it (virginity) can happen to go away during a state of illness or a matter which had affected her’.
