سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ اللَّقِيطَةِ قَالَ لَا تُبَاعُ وَ لَا تُشْتَرَى وَ لَكِنِ اسْتَخْدِمْهَا بِمَا أَنْفَقْتَ عَلَيْهَا .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the found (female abandoned child). He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘She can neither be sold nor bought, but she can be made to serve for whatever was spent upon her’.
