إِذَا رُهِنْتَ عَبْداً أَوْ دَابَّةً فَمَاتَ فَلَا شَيْءَ عَلَيْكَ وَ إِنْ هَلَكَتِ الدَّابَّةُ أَوْ أَبَقَ الْغُلَامُ فَأَنْتَ ضَامِنٌ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ja’far Al Razzaz, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Hameed, from Sayf Bin Ameyra, from Mansour Bin Hazim, from Suleyman Bin Khalid, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘When you hold a mortgaged slave or an animal and he dies, so there is nothing upon you, but if the animal is damaged or the slave absconds, so you are responsible’.
