سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ جَوْهَرِ الْأُسْرُبِّ وَ هُوَ إِذَا خَلَصَ كَانَ فِيهِ فِضَّةٌ أَ يَصْلُحُ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ الرَّجُلُ فِيهِ الدَّرَاهِمَ الْمُسَمَّاةَ فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَ الْغَالِبُ عَلَيْهِ اسْمَ الْأُسْرُبِّ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ يَعْنِي لَا يُعْرَفُ إِلَّا بِالْأُسْرُبِّ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ismail Bin Marrar, from Yunus, from Muawiya, or someone else, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the lead jewels, and when it was pure it had silver in it. Is it correct that the man should submit an advance payment of a known amount of Dirhams with regards to it?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When it was such that the name of the lead overwhelmed it, so there is no problem with that, meaning it cannot be recognised except with the lead’.
