Al-Kafi 9128

Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, altogether from Safwan, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj who said, ‘I asked him^asws about the ornamented swords wherein is the silver, can it be sold with the gold to a specified term?’ So he^asws said: ‘The people are not differing regarding the credit that it is the usury. But rather, they are differing regarding the hand to hand (transaction)’. So I said to him^asws, ‘So can it be sold with the Dirhams in cash?’ So he^asws said: ‘My^asws father^asws was saying: ‘If there was something along with it, it would be more beloved to me^asws’. So I said to him^asws, ‘When the Dirhams which are given are more than the silver which is therein?’ So he^asws said: ‘And how would be the precaution for them with that?’ I said to him^asws, ‘But they are claiming that they are recognising that’. So he^asws said: ‘If they were recognising that, so there is no problem, or else if they were making something else to be along with it, it would be more beloved to me^asws’.
