John Shaqi

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَزْرَعُ أَرْضَ آخَرَ فَيَشْتَرِطُ عَلَيْهِ لِلْبَذْرِ ثُلُثاً وَ لِلْبَقَرِ ثُلُثاً قَالَ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ بَذْراً وَ لَا بَقَراً فَإِنَّمَا يُحَرِّمُ الْكَلَامُ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Nu’man, from Ibn Muskan, from Suleyman Bin Khalid who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the man who cultivates a land of another, so he stipulates upon him, a third for the sowing, and a third for the oxen (ploughing). He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It is not befitting that he mentioned sowing, nor oxen, for the speech makes it Prohibited’.
