قُلْتُ لَهُ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ تَرَى الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ وُجُوهُهُمْ مُسْوَدَّةٌ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ إِنِّي إِمَامٌ وَ لَيْسَ بِإِمَامٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَوِيّاً قَالَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَوِيّاً قُلْتُ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ وُلْدِ عَلِيِّ ابْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ .

محمد بن یحیی، احمد بن محمد سے، محمد بن سنان سے، ابو سلام سے، سورۃ بن کلیب سے، ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے کہا: اللہ عز و جل کا یہ فرمان: اور قیامت کے دن تم ان لوگوں کو دیکھو گے جنہوں نے اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھا تھا—ان کے چہرے سیاہ ہو چکے ہوں گے۔ انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: جو شخص کہے، "میں امام ہوں"، حالانکہ وہ امام نہیں ہے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے عرض کیا: "اگرچہ وہ علوی ہی کیوں نہ ہو؟" انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: "اگرچہ وہ علوی ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔" میں نے عرض کیا: "اگرچہ وہ علی بن ابی طالب علیہ السلام کی اولاد میں سے ہی کیوں نہ ہو؟" انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: "اگرچہ وہ ہو۔"
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Abu Sallam, from Sowrat Bin Kuleyb, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:39#h60"><a href="/books/quran:39#h60">[39:60]</a></a> And on the Day of Judgement you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces having been blackened</span>’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The one who says, ‘I am an Imam’, and he is not an Imam’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘And even if he was an Alawiite?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And even if he was an Alawiite’. I said, ‘And even if he was from the sons of Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Abu Talib<sup>asws</sup>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And even if he was’.
