«لاَ اِقْضِ بِالنَّهَارِ فَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُتَّخَذَ ذَلِكَ خُلُقاً.

عمر بن حنظلہ نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے کہا: میں اٹھنے کا ارادہ کر کے اٹھارہ راتیں ٹھہرا لیکن میں نہیں اٹھا۔ کیا مجھے پھر رات کے شروع میں نماز پڑھنی چاہیے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: "نہیں۔ دن میں قضا کرو، کیونکہ میں ناپسند کرتا ہوں کہ یہ عادت بن جائے۔"
Translation
Hadith.1377 - Umar ibn Hanzalah said to Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as): "I have spent eighteen nights intending to rise (for the night prayer) but did not get up. Should I then pray at the beginning of the night?" He (as) replied: "No, make it up during the day, for I dislike it becoming a habitual practice."
