: قُلْتُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مَرِضَ فَتَرَكَ اَلنَّافِلَةَ فَقَالَ «يَا مُحَمَّدُ لَيْسَتْ بِفَرِيضَةٍ إِنْ قَضَاهَا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ يَفْعَلُهُ وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ فَلاَ شَيْءَ عَلَيْهِ.

محمد ابن مسلم نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے کہا: ایک شخص بیمار ہو گیا اور اس نے نفل نماز چھوڑ دی۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: اے محمد، یہ فرض نہیں ہے۔ اگر وہ اسے قضا کرے تو یہ ایک نیک عمل ہے جو وہ کرتا ہے، اور اگر وہ نہ کرے تو اس پر کوئی چیز نہیں۔
Translation
Hadith.1431 - Muhammad ibn Muslim narrates that Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) said: "I asked him about a man who became ill and thus did not perform the supererogatory (nafilah) prayers. Imam (as) said: 'O’ Muhammad, they are not obligatory. If he makes them up, it is a good deed he performs, and if he does not, there is no obligation upon him.'"
