شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ نَافِلَةً بِاللَّيْلِ جَمَاعَةً فَقَالاَ « إِنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى اَلْعِشَاءَ اَلْآخِرَةَ اِنْصَرَفَ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ آخِرِ اَللَّيْلِ إِلَى اَلْمَسْجِدِ فَيَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي فَخَرَجَ فِي أَوَّلِ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ لِيُصَلِّيَ كَمَا كَانَ يُصَلِّي فَاصْطَفَّ اَلنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ فَهَرَبَ مِنْهُمْ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ وَ تَرَكَهُمْ فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ ثَلاَثَ لَيَالٍ فَقَامَ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ فِي اَلْيَوْمِ اَلثَّالِثِ عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ فَحَمِدَ اَللَّهَ وَ أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَيُّهَا اَلنَّاسُ إِنَّ اَلصَّلاَةَ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مِنَ اَلنَّافِلَةِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ بِدْعَةٌ وَ صَلاَةَ اَلضُّحَى بِدْعَةٌ أَلاَ فَلاَ تَجْتَمِعُوا لَيْلاً فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ لِصَلاَةِ اَللَّيْلِ وَ لاَ تُصَلُّوا صَلاَةَ اَلضُّحَى فَإِنَّ تِلْكَ مَعْصِيَةٌ أَلاَ فَإِنَّ كُلَّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلاَلَةٌ وَ كُلَّ ضَلاَلَةٍ سَبِيلُهَا إِلَى اَلنَّارِ » ثُمَّ نَزَلَ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ «قَلِيلٌ فِي سُنَّةٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ كَثِيرٍ فِي بِدْعَةٍ».

زُرارہ، محمد بن مسلم، اور الفضیل نے ابو جعفر الباقر اور ابا عبداللہ الصادق علیہما السلام سے رمضان کے مہینے میں رات کی نفلی نماز جماعت میں پڑھنے کے بارے میں پوچھا۔ انہوں نے کہا: "نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب آخری نماز عشاء پڑھ لیتے تو گھر چلے جاتے۔ پھر رات کے آخری حصے میں مسجد آ کر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھتے۔ رمضان کے پہلے دن وہ نماز پڑھنے کے لیے نکلے جیسا کہ وہ پڑھتے تھے، لوگ ان کے پیچھے صف باندھ گئے۔ وہ ان سے بھاگ کر اپنے گھر چلے گئے اور انہیں چھوڑ دیا۔ انہوں نے تین راتیں ایسا کیا۔ پھر تیسرے دن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم منبر پر کھڑے ہوئے، اللہ کی حمد و ثنا کی اور فرمایا: 'اے لوگو! رمضان میں رات کی نفلی نماز جماعت میں پڑھنا بدعت ہے، اور صلاة الضحیٰ بھی بدعت ہے۔ تم رمضان کی راتوں میں نماز کے لیے جمع نہ ہو اور صلاة الضحیٰ نہ پڑھو، یہ نافرمانی ہے۔ ہر بدعت گمراہی ہے اور ہر گمراہی کا راستہ جہنم ہے۔" پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نیچے اترے اور فرمایا: 'سنت میں تھوڑا بہت ہونا بدعت میں بہت سے ہونے سے بہتر ہے۔'
Translation
Hadith.1964 - Zurara, Muhammad ibn Muslim, and Al-Fudayl asked Abu Ja'far, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), and Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about offering night prayers in congregation during the nights of Month of Ramadan. They (as) said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) used to pray the last night prayer ('Isha) and then return to his home. Later in the night, he would come out to the mosque and pray. On the first night of Month of Ramadan, he came out to pray as he usually did, and the people lined up behind him. He fled from them to his house and left them. This happened for three nights. On the third day, He (peace be upon him and his family) ascended the pulpit, praised Allah (swt), and said: 'O people, praying at night during Ramadan in congregation is an innovation, and so is the Duha prayer (forenoon prayer). Do not gather at night during Month of Ramadan for night prayers, nor offer the Duha prayer, for these are acts of disobedience. Indeed, every innovation leads to misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the fire.' Then the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) descended while saying: 'A little in adherence to the Sunnah is better than much in innovation.'"
