«إِنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي اَلْفَرِيضَةِ فَأَمَّا فِي اَلنَّافِلَةِ فَلَهُ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ أَيَّ سَاعَةٍ شَاءَ إِلَى غُرُوبِ اَلشَّمْسِ».

سماعة نے ان سے ان کے قول کے بارے میں پوچھا: "روزہ دار کے پاس اختیار ہے جب تک سورج اپنی چمک سے گزر جائے۔" انہوں نے کہا: یہ فرض روزے پر لاگو ہوتا ہے۔ جہاں تک نفلی روزے کا تعلق ہے، وہ چاہے کسی بھی وقت افطار کر سکتا ہے جب تک سورج غروب نہ ہو جائے۔
Translation
Hadith.2002 - Sama‘ah asked Abu ‘Abd Allah (as) about the statement: "The fasting person has the option until the sun passes its zenith." Imam (as) replied: "That applies to obligatory fasts. As for voluntary fasts, one may break the fast at any time they wish until sunset."
