اِمْرَأَةٍ تُوُفِّيَ عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا وَ لَمْ يَمَسَّهَا قَالَ "لاَ تَنْكِحُ حَتَّى تَعْتَدَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشَرَةَ أَيَّامٍ عِدَّةَ اَلْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا".

امیرالمؤمنین علیہ السلام نے اس عورت کے بارے میں حکم دیا جس کا شوہر فوت ہو گیا اور اس سے نکاح مکمل نہیں ہوا؛ آپ نے فرمایا: وہ نکاح نہ کرے جب تک کہ وہ چار مہینے اور دس دن کی عدت پوری نہ کر لے، جو اس عورت کی عدت ہے جس کا شوہر فوت ہو گیا ہو۔
Translation
Hadith.4783 - Commander of the Faithful (as) ruled concerning a woman whose husband passed away without consummating the marriage, saying: "She must not remarry until she completes a waiting period (iddah) of four months and ten days, which is the prescribed waiting period for a woman whose husband has passed away."
