"وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ اَلرَّجْمُ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلاَنِ وَ أَرْبَعُ نِسْوَةٍ فَلاَ تَجُوزُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ وَ لاَ يُرْجَمُ وَ لَكِنْ يُضْرَبُ اَلْحَدَّ حَدَّ اَلزَّانِي".

حدیث 4993 — الحسن ابن محبوب نے ابان سے، ابوالحلبی سے، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی: کہا گیا کہ ایک محصن مرد کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا جس نے ایک عورت کے ساتھ زنا کیا اور اس کے خلاف تین مردوں اور دو عورتوں نے گواہی دی۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: اس پر رجم واجب ہو جاتا ہے۔ لیکن اگر دو مرد اور چار عورتیں اس کے خلاف گواہی دیں تو ان کی گواہی قبول نہیں کی جاتی اور اسے رجم نہیں کیا جاتا؛ بلکہ اسے حد دی جاتی ہے، یعنی زانی کی سزا دی جاتی ہے۔
Translation
Hadith.4993 - Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub narrated from Aban, from Al-Halabi, from Abu Abdullah (as) that Imam (as) was asked about a married man who committed adultery with a woman, and three men and two women testified against him. Imam (as) said: "The punishment of stoning becomes obligatory upon him. However, if two men and four women testify against him, their testimony is not accepted, and he is not stoned, but rather he is subjected to the prescribed punishment for a fornicator."
