رِوَايَةِ غِيَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ : "أَنَّ عَلِيّاً عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ أُتِيَ بِالْكُوفَةِ بِرَجُلٍ سَرَقَ حَمَاماً فَلَمْ يَقْطَعْهُ وَ قَالَ "لاَ أَقْطَعُ فِي اَلطَّيْرِ" ".

اور غیاث بن ابراہیم کی روایت میں، ابو عبداللہ سے، ان کے والد سے، دونوں پر سلام ہو، کہ علی علیہ السلام کو کوفہ میں ایک ایسا شخص لایا گیا تھا جس نے ایک کبوتر چرا لیا تھا، لہٰذا انہوں نے اس کا ہاتھ نہیں کاٹا اور فرمایا: "میں پرندوں کے لیے ہاتھ نہیں کاٹتا۔"
Translation
Hadith.5100 - In the narration of Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim from Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) from his father, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), it is reported: "Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) was presented in Kufa with a man who had stolen a pigeon, but he did not cut off his hand and said: 'I do not cut off (a hand) for stealing birds.'"
