5111 - وَ قَالَ اَلصَّادِقُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : "كَانَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِذَا سَرَقَ اَلرَّجُلُ أَوَّلاً قَطَعَ يَمِينَهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ قَطَعَ رِجْلَهُ اَلْيُسْرَى فَإِنْ عَادَ ثَالِثَةً خَلَّدَهُ اَلسِّجْنَ وَ أَنْفَقَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْتِ اَلْمَالِ".

5111 - اَلصَّادِق علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: “امیرالمؤمنین علیہ السلام، جب کوئی شخص پہلی بار چوری کرتا تو اس کا دایاں ہاتھ کاٹ دیتے۔ اگر وہ دوبارہ چوری کرتا تو اس کا بایاں پاؤں کاٹ دیتے۔ اگر تیسری بار چوری کرتا تو اسے ہمیشہ کے لیے قید میں بند کر دیتے اور بیت المال سے اس کا خرچ دیتے۔”
Translation
Hadith.5111 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "When a man committed theft for the first time, Commander of the Faithful (as) would cut off his right hand. If he repeated the theft, he would cut off his left foot. If he stole a third time, he would imprison him for life and provide for him from the public treasury."
