ابو ایوب نے الحلبی سے روایت کی، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: بے شک، علی علیہ السلام کی کتاب میں یہ بیان ہے کہ وہ سزا کے حدود میں، جب نابالغ لڑکا یا لڑکی لائے جاتے تو وہ پوری کوڑے، آدھے کوڑے، یا اس کے کسی حصے سے مارا کرتے تھے، اور وہ اللہ کی حدود میں سے کسی حد کو باطل نہیں کرتے تھے۔ پھر ان سے پوچھا گیا: وہ اسے کس طرح مارا کرتے تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا: وہ کوڑے کو اپنے ہاتھ میں درمیان سے پکڑ کر مارتے یا اس کے ایک تہائی حصے سے مارتے، ان کی عمر کے مطابق۔ اسی طرح وہ انہیں کوڑے سے مارتے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی حدود میں سے کسی حد کو باطل نہیں کرتے تھے۔

Translation

Hadith.5148 - Abu Ayyub narrated from Al-Halabi from Abu Abdullah (as) who said: "In the book of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), it is mentioned that He (as) would administer punishment using a whip, half a whip, or even a part of it - meaning in the legal punishments (hudud) when a young boy or girl, who had not yet reached maturity, was brought to him. Yet, He (as) would not nullify any of Allah's (swt) prescribed punishments." Imam Al Sadiq (as) was asked: "How would he strike with part of the whip?" Imam (as) replied: "Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) would hold the whip by its middle and strike with it, or he would hold it by a third and strike with it, in proportion to their ages. In this way, he would strike them with the whip without nullifying any of Allah's (swt) prescribed punishments, the Mighty and Majestic."
