محمد ابن علی ابن محبوب نے موسیٰ ابن جعفر بغدادی سے روایت کی، علی ابن محمد ابن سلیمان نوفلی سے، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو جعفر الثانی علیہ السلام کو ایک زمین کے بارے میں لکھا جو میرے دادا نے فلاں ابن فلاں کی اولاد میں محتاجوں کے لیے وقف کی تھی، وہ شخص جو قبیلہ جمع کرتا ہے، جبکہ وہ بہت سے اور مختلف علاقوں میں بکھرے ہوئے ہیں۔ اور وقف کرنے والے کی اولاد میں شدید ضرورت ہے، اس لیے انہوں نے مجھ سے درخواست کی کہ میں انہیں اس میں باقی اولاد سے الگ کر دوں۔ تو انہوں نے علیہ السلام جواب دیا: تم نے اس زمین کا ذکر کیا جو تمہارے دادا نے فلاں کی اولاد کے محتاجوں کے لیے وقف کی تھی۔ یہ اس شہر میں موجود لوگوں کے لیے ہے جہاں وقف ہے، اور تمہیں غائب شخص کی تلاش کرنے کا حق نہیں ہے۔

Translation

Hadith.5574 - Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub narrated from Musa ibn Ja'far Al-Baghdadi from Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sulayman Al-Nawfali, who said: I wrote to Abu Ja'far Al-Thani (as), peace be upon him, asking about a piece of land that my grandfather had endowed for the needy among the descendants of so-and-so, the man who united the tribe. However, they are numerous and scattered across different lands, while the descendants of the one who made the endowment are in severe need. They asked me to allocate the endowment specifically to them, excluding the other descendants of the man who united the tribe. Imam (as) replied: "You mentioned the land that your grandfather endowed for the poor among the descendants of so-and-so. It is designated for those who are present in the town where the endowment exists, and you are not permitted to seek out those who are absent."
