: «تُؤَذِّنُ وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَائِماً أَوْ قَاعِداً وَ أَيْنَمَا تَوَجَّهْتَ وَ لَكِنْ إِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَعَلَى وُضُوءٍ مُتَهَيِّئاً لِلصَّلاَةِ.

زرارہ نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: آپ اذان دے سکتے ہیں جبکہ آپ وضو کی حالت میں نہ ہوں، ایک ہی لباس میں، کھڑے ہوں یا بیٹھے، اور جس طرف بھی رخ کریں۔ لیکن جب آپ اقامت کریں تو وضو کی حالت میں، نماز کے لیے تیار ہو کر کریں۔
Translation
Hadith.866 - Zurarah narrated from Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) that He said: "You may give the adhan (call to prayer) without being in a state of wudu (ritual purity), wearing a single garment, whether standing or sitting, and in any direction you face. However, when you perform the iqamah (second call to prayer), you must be in a state of wudu, prepared for the prayer."
