«اِجْهَرْ وَ اِرْفَعْ بِهِ صَوْتَكَ فَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَدُونَ ذَلِكَ وَ لاَ تَنْتَظِرْ بِأَذَانِكَ وَ إِقَامَتِكَ إِلاَّ دُخُولَ وَقْتِ اَلصَّلاَةِ وَ اُحْدُرْ إِقَامَتَكَ حَدْراً.

معاویہ ابن وہب نے ابا عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے اذان کے بارے میں پوچھا، اور انہوں نے فرمایا: “اسے بلند آواز سے پڑھو اور اپنی آواز بلند کرو۔ پھر جب تم اقامت کرو تو اسے اس سے کم رکھو۔ اور اپنی اذان اور اقامت کے ساتھ نماز کے وقت کے داخل ہونے کے سوا انتظار نہ کرو، اور اپنی اقامت کو جلدی پڑھو۔”
Translation
Hadith.876 - Muawiya ibn Wahb asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about the adhan (call to prayer). The Imam said: "Raise your voice and speak loudly when giving the adhan. When performing the iqamah (second call to prayer), use a slightly lower voice. Do not delay your adhan and iqamah except until the time for prayer has arrived, and recite the iqamah quickly (with fluidity)."
