Surah Al-Insaan

Uthmani — Hafs

هَلۡ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ حِينࣱ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهۡرِ لَمۡ يَكُن شَيۡـࣰٔ ا مَّذۡكُورًا ﴿١﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

کیا انسان پر لا متناہی زمانے کا ایک وقت ایسا بھی گزرا ہے جب وہ کوئی قابل ذکر چیز نہ تھا؟

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

Is there not a period of time when each human is nothing yet worth mentioning

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ أَمۡشَاجࣲ نَّبۡتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرًا ﴿٢﴾

ہم نے انسان کو ایک مخلوط نطفے سے پیدا کیا تاکہ اس کا امتحان لیں اور اِس غرض کے لیے ہم نے اسے سننے اور دیکھنے والا بنایا

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

˹For˺ indeed, We ˹alone˺ created humans from a drop of mixed fluids, ˹in order˺ to test them, so We made them hear and see

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّا هَدَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرࣰ ا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ﴿٣﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

ہم نے اسے راستہ دکھا دیا، خواہ شکر کرنے والا بنے یا کفر کرنے والا

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

We already showed them the Way, whether they ˹choose to˺ be grateful or ungrateful

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّآ أَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَاْ وَأَغۡلَٰلࣰ ا وَسَعِيرًا ﴿٤﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

کفر کرنے والوں کے لیے ہم نے زنجیریں اور طوق اور بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ مہیا کر رکھی ہے

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, shackles, and a blazing Fire

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ يَشۡرَبُونَ مِن كَأۡسࣲ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ﴿٥﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

نیک لوگ (جنت میں) شراب کے ایسے ساغر پئیں گے جن میں آب کافور کی آمیزش ہوگی

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

Indeed, the virtuous will have a drink ˹of pure wine˺—flavoured with camphor—

Uthmani — Hafs

عَيۡنࣰ ا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفۡجِيرࣰ ا ﴿٦﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ ایک بہتا چشمہ ہوگا جس کے پانی کے ساتھ اللہ کے بندے شراب پئیں گے اور جہاں چاہیں گے بسہولت اس کی شاخیں لیں گے

˹from˺ a spring where Allah’s servants will drink, flowing at their will

Uthmani — Hafs

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذۡرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوۡمࣰ ا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسۡتَطِيرࣰ ا ﴿٧﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ وہ لوگ ہونگے جو (دنیا میں) نذر پوری کرتے ہیں، اور اُس دن سے ڈرتے ہیں جس کی آفت ہر طرف پھیلی ہوئی ہوگی

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

They ˹are those who˺ fulfil ˹their˺ vows and fear a Day of sweeping horror

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينࣰ ا وَيَتِيمࣰ ا وَأَسِيرًا ﴿٨﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اور اللہ کی محبت میں مسکین اور یتیم اور قیدی کو کھانا کھلاتے ہیں

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

and give food—despite their desire for it—to the poor, the orphan, and the captive

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِوَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمۡ جَزَآءࣰ وَلَا شُكُورًا ﴿٩﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

(اور اُن سے کہتے ہیں کہ) ہم تمہیں صرف اللہ کی خاطر کھلا رہے ہیں، ہم تم سے نہ کوئی بدلہ چاہتے ہیں نہ شکریہ

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

˹saying to themselves,˺ “We feed you only for the sake of Allah, seeking neither reward nor thanks from you

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوۡمًا عَبُوسࣰ ا قَمۡطَرِيرࣰ ا ﴿١٠﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

ہمیں تو اپنے رب سے اُس دن کے عذاب کا خوف لاحق ہے جو سخت مصیبت کا انتہائی طویل دن ہوگا

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

We fear from our Lord a horribly distressful Day.”

Uthmani — Hafs

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمۡ نَضۡرَةࣰ وَسُرُورࣰ ا ﴿١١﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

پس اللہ تعالیٰ انہیں اُس دن کے شر سے بچا لے گا اور انہیں تازگی اور سرور بخشے گا

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

So Allah will deliver them from the horror of that Day, and grant them radiance and joy

Uthmani — Hafs

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُواْ جَنَّةࣰ وَحَرِيرࣰ ا ﴿١٢﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اور اُن کے صبر کے بدلے میں اُنہیں جنت اور ریشمی لباس عطا کریگا

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

and reward them for their perseverance with a Garden ˹in Paradise˺ and ˹garments of˺ silk

Uthmani — Hafs

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِۖ لَا يَرَوۡنَ فِيهَا شَمۡسࣰ ا وَلَا زَمۡهَرِيرࣰ ا ﴿١٣﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

وہاں وہ اونچی مسندوں پر تکیے لگائے بیٹھے ہونگے نہ اُنہیں دھوپ کی گرمی ستائے گی نہ جاڑے کی ٹھر

There they will be reclining on ˹canopied˺ couches, never seeing scorching heat or bitter cold

Uthmani — Hafs

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيۡهِمۡ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتۡ قُطُوفُهَا تَذۡلِيلࣰ ا ﴿١٤﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

جنت کی چھاؤں ان پر جھکی ہوئی سایہ کر رہی ہوگی، اور اُس کے پھل ہر وقت ان کے بس میں ہوں گے (کہ جس طرح چاہیں انہیں توڑ لیں)

The Garden’s shade will be right above them, and its fruit will be made very easy to reach

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِم بِـَٔانِيَةࣲ مِّن فِضَّةࣲ وَأَكۡوَابࣲ كَانَتۡ قَوَارِيرَا۠ ﴿١٥﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اُن کے آگے چاندی کے برتن اور شیشے کے پیالے گردش کرائے جا رہے ہونگے

They will be waited on with silver vessels and cups of crystal—

Uthmani — Hafs

قَوَارِيرَاْ مِن فِضَّةࣲ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقۡدِيرࣰ ا ﴿١٦﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

شیشے بھی وہ جو چاندی کی قسم کے ہونگے، اور ان کو (منتظمین جنت نے) ٹھیک اندازے کے مطابق بھرا ہوگا

crystalline silver, filled precisely as desired

Uthmani — Hafs

وَيُسۡقَوۡنَ فِيهَا كَأۡسࣰ ا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ﴿١٧﴾

ان کو وہاں ایسی شراب کے جام پلائے جائیں گے جس میں سونٹھ کی آمیزش ہوگی

And they will be given a drink ˹of pure wine˺ flavoured with ginger

عَيۡنࣰ ا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلۡسَبِيلࣰ ا ﴿١٨﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ جنت کا ایک چشمہ ہوگا جسے سلسبیل کہا جاتا ہے

from a spring there, called Salsabîl

Uthmani — Hafs

۞وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنࣱ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ حَسِبۡتَهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤࣰ ا مَّنثُورࣰ ا ﴿١٩﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

ان کی خدمت کے لیے ایسے لڑکے دوڑتے پھر رہے ہوں گے جو ہمیشہ لڑکے ہی رہیں گے تم انہیں دیکھو تو سمجھو کہ موتی ہیں جو بکھیر دیے گئے ہیں

They will be waited on by eternal youths. If you saw them, you would think they were scattered pearls

Uthmani — Hafs

وَإِذَا رَأَيۡتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيۡتَ نَعِيمࣰ ا وَمُلۡكࣰ ا كَبِيرًا ﴿٢٠﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

وہاں جدھر بھی تم نگاہ ڈالو گے نعمتیں ہی نعمتیں اور ایک بڑی سلطنت کا سر و سامان تمہیں نظر آئے گا

And if you looked around, you would see ˹indescribable˺ bliss and a vast kingdom

Uthmani — Hafs

عَٰلِيَهُمۡ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضۡرࣱ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقࣱۖ وَحُلُّوٓاْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةࣲ وَسَقَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ شَرَابࣰ ا طَهُورًا ﴿٢١﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اُن کے اوپر باریک ریشم کے سبز لباس اور اطلس و دیبا کے کپڑے ہوں گے، ان کو چاندی کے کنگن پہنا ئے جائیں گے، اور ان کا رب ان کو نہایت پاکیزہ شراب پلائے گا

The virtuous will be ˹dressed˺ in garments of fine green silk and rich brocade, and adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمۡ جَزَآءࣰ وَكَانَ سَعۡيُكُم مَّشۡكُورًا ﴿٢٢﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ ہے تمہاری جزا اور تمہاری کارگزاری قابل قدر ٹھیری ہے

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

˹And they will be told,˺ “All this is surely a reward for you. Your striving has been appreciated.”

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَنزِيلࣰ ا ﴿٢٣﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اے نبیؐ، ہم نے ہی تم پر یہ قرآن تھوڑا تھوڑا کر کے نازل کیا ہے

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

Indeed, it is We Who have revealed the Quran to you ˹O Prophet˺ in stages

Uthmani — Hafs

فَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مِنۡهُمۡ ءَاثِمًا أَوۡ كَفُورࣰ ا ﴿٢٤﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

لہٰذا تم اپنے رب کے حکم پر صبر کرو، اور اِن میں سے کسی بد عمل یا منکر حق کی بات نہ مانو

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

So be patient with your Lord’s decree, and do not yield to any evildoer or ˹staunch˺ disbeliever from among them

Uthmani — Hafs

وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ بُكۡرَةࣰ وَأَصِيلࣰ ا ﴿٢٥﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اپنے رب کا نام صبح و شام یاد کرو

˹Always˺ remember the Name of your Lord morning and evening

Uthmani — Hafs

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَٱسۡجُدۡ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحۡهُ لَيۡلࣰ ا طَوِيلًا ﴿٢٦﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

رات کو بھی اس کے حضور سجدہ ریز ہو، اور رات کے طویل اوقات میں اُس کی تسبیح کرتے رہو

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

and prostrate before Him during part of the night, and glorify Him long at night

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمۡ يَوۡمࣰ ا ثَقِيلࣰ ا ﴿٢٧﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ لوگ تو جلدی حاصل ہونے والی چیز (دنیا) سے محبت رکھتے ہیں اور آگے جو بھاری دن آنے والا ہے اسے نظر انداز کر دیتے ہیں

Surely those ˹pagans˺ love this fleeting world, ˹totally˺ neglecting a weighty Day ahead of them

Uthmani — Hafs

نَّحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰهُمۡ وَشَدَدۡنَآ أَسۡرَهُمۡۖ وَإِذَا شِئۡنَا بَدَّلۡنَآ أَمۡثَٰلَهُمۡ تَبۡدِيلًا ﴿٢٨﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

ہم نے ہی اِن کو پیدا کیا ہے اور ان کے جوڑ بند مضبوط کیے ہیں، اور ہم جب چاہیں اِن کی شکلوں کو بدل کر رکھ دیں

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

It is We Who created them and perfected their ˹physical˺ form. But if We will, We can easily replace them with others

Uthmani — Hafs

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذۡكِرَةࣱۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلࣰ ا ﴿٢٩﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

یہ ایک نصیحت ہے، اب جس کا جی چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف جانے کا راستہ اختیار کر لے

Surely this is a reminder. So let whoever wills take the ˹Right˺ Way to their Lord

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمࣰ ا ﴿٣٠﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اور تمہارے چاہنے سے کچھ نہیں ہوتا جب تک اللہ نہ چاہے یقیناً اللہ بڑا علیم و حکیم ہے

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

But you cannot will ˹to do so˺ unless Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise

يُدۡخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمَۢا ﴿٣١﴾

Tafhim al-Quran — Maududi

اپنی رحمت میں جس کو چاہتا ہے داخل کرتا ہے، اور ظالموں کے لیے اس نے دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے

The Clear Quran — Mustafa Khattab

He admits whoever He wills into His mercy. As for the wrongdoers, He has prepared for them a painful punishment
